Late one evening, hot and humid,
I could not sleep, and
so I stayed up and read
Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen
A fascinating read, not as sullen
As the subject matter I thought it’d be
About the literary
love affair twixt Poe and Franny.
An historical novel, a romantic story
‘Tho in parts, it could have been
But it wasn’t. Shall I tell more?
